In the works since 1996, MEGAMALL takes an inside look at the controversy surrounding one of the biggest malls in America, the Palisades Center in West Nyack, NY. The story kicks off when the Pyramid Companies, the largest shopping center developer in the Northeast, breaks ground for a huge mall on top of a toxic dump, one mile from the filmmakers' homes. That move sparks a decade-long quest to uncover the forces buffeting a suburban community and re-shaping the American landscape.
Award-winning independent film-makers Sarah Mondale, Vera Aronow and Roger Grange have captured over 50 eventful hours of footage: the raw material for a provocative 1-hour documentary. PBS, Cable channels, film festivals and schools are all eager to show MEGAMALL. But we need your financial help to finish the film.
