About Roger Grange, Cinematographer I am a cinematographer and videographer for documentary films, dramatic films, videos for corporations, non-profit organizations. and commercials. Over the past twenty years, I have photographed an incredible variety of subjects all over the world. I received an Earthwatch Film Award in 1998 for directing and cinematography on “The Quiet Revolution: Kerala, India”, for PBS. Cinematography should be done with the utmost care, patience, and honesty in order to produce imagery which has emotional and artistic power. I get a great deal of energy and inspiration from the collaborative atmosphere of a film set. I sincerely enjoy working with my clients, producers, directors and crew members, all of which leads to producing work on a very high level.
 
 
 
Equipment and Crew I provide a one stop solution for crew and equipment in the New York City area. We carry a customized equipment package which allows us to achieve high quality results quickly and consistently. I light and film a large number of interviews for documentaries each year, and I am highly skilled at setting up complex lighting with a minimum of fuss. I am also very experienced working with actors on dramatic productions both on location and on studio sets. My favorite lighting and grip personnel and sound mixers are world class. I currently film primarily with DVCAM and DVCPRO HD video tape cameras, but I am familiar with all video formats and portable cameras in use today. 16mm and 35mm film cameras occasionally show up on my shoots as well. I own broadcast style DVCAM and Betacam SP cameras with wide and normal zoom lenses. I also own a Sony HVR-Z1U HDV camera (mini HD), a small camera recording both NTSC and PAL, as well as DV and DVCAM in both TV standards, 16x9 or 4x3.
